Atheism - the doctrine or belief that there is no God.
Hi, it's me again and my insomnia's killing me. Anyway, I am going to preach the REAL news and the TRUTH and hopefully, the TRUTH might set you free. So why do I not believe in God? A creator? Heaven and Hell? Ghosts? Miracles? The meaning of Life?
The God Delusion
Simple. Scientific evidence does not add up to all of these. Let's start with God. If you believe in God, you'll most probably believe in a creator. Creationism or some smart ass alternative name, intelligent design, has simply no evidence and is contradictory to the fact that evolution exists. Creationism states that the earth is about 5,700 to 10,000 years old. Ok, then what about the dinosaur fossils that the archeologists dug up? They just happened to be there?
Another point, we cannot prove that "God" exists. What's the point of being God when you're EVERYWHERE but NOWHERE to be found? Of course, some smartass out there would challenge me ,"Yea, now try to prove that God doesn't exist". Yes, I agree that science cannot prove that God doesn't exist. But just because Science cannot prove that, does it give us a good reason to believe it in the first place? There's a motherfuckingshitload of things that Science cannot disprove the existence of. For example, Dragons, Faeries, Dwarfs, Goblins cannot be proven to NOT exist. But we don't believe in them. So why are millions of people still believing in fairy tales?
The idea of God is like a virus. From a very young age, kids have religion shoved down their throats. You know what else kids believe in? Santa Claus, Tooth Fairies, Superman, Godzilla and the Boogie Man. They'll also believe whatever their parents tell them. "Don't touch the kettle, look out for the car, careful, don't fall". Kids don't have the liberty to think over the orders of their parents, they have to follow instructions immediately. Should the kid stop and think to analyze an order, he/she would most probably be dead.
Afterlife - Heaven, Hell, Nirvana, Playboy Mansion
The very idea of someone watching everything you do and evaluating you for the rest of your life to see whether you deserve to walk past the pearly gates is yet another man made control device to strike fear and guilt into the hearts of men. It also comforts a person as he or she believe that there's life after death. Looks like a lucrative idea yes? However, at what cost? It gives people the right to justify their wrong doings. It also acts as a negative reinforcement because you wouldn't want to burn for 999999999999999999999999999999999999 years right? So basically, most theists, do good things because they wanna get into heaven (talk about being genuine).
Miracles and Curses
Ah, now's the time for me to get my geek on and share my 33% percent theory ;)
There's 3 types of events that can happen to us: Good, Neural or Bad. So the chance of any of those events to occur is 33.33333333333333333333%. Now, let's say you've gone to some witchdoctor and he sold you a "protective amulet". The following week, you were nearly hit by a bus. The typical Malaysian would attribute this good event as a miracle given by the amulet when actually it was just pure luck. A 1 out of 3 odds is VERY HIGH and why would you be so certain that some supernatural power exists because u prayed, received "blessings" from a priest
Which brings me to my next argument, absolute certainty. Nothing is perfect and science lives by that law. Scientists use humble words like "most probably" rather than "definitely". A creationist would say, science cannot explain the origins of the universe, therefore, there is definitely a God. They say it so arrogantly without any proof. Yes, current scientific technology might not be able to prove the roots of the universe yet but does that give you the reason to believe in an invisible being? Absolute certainty is so dangerous, it destroys independent thought and create hyped-up overly confident people who have egocentric viewpoints. Eg: suicide bombers. When scientists don't know an answer, they will say ,"we don't know" but when a hyped-up religious fag doesn't know an answer, he'll most probably say ,"God works in mysterious ways". Isn't telling someone you don't know WAY better than pulling out some bullshit answer out of your ass?
Richard Dawkins, a genius evolutionist was approach by a
To sum it all up, I encourage you theists to think independently, question religious dogma and use human reasoning rather than following ancient scribblings and listening to whatever your parents shoved down your throat when you were a kid (ok, that didn't come out right).
